Changing the registered entity on an active certificate requires a structured administrative procedure that involves both parties and the designated certification body. During the transition, the certification body verifies that the test reports still reflect the current state of the hardware. The technical documentation is updated to ensure that the labeling on the physical product or packaging matches the new registration details.
Local Representation
Foreign manufacturers of cellular modules or smart devices must establish a contract with a third-party commercial partner or an established subsidiary to occupy this role. The ANATEL certification holder must possess a valid Brazilian taxpayer number and a registered business address to interact with the regulatory databases. If the holder fails to respond to compliance inquiries from the authority, the market authorization is suspended immediately.
